His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General, has re-appointed Professor Hopeton Dunn as Chairman of the Broadcasting Commission of Jamaica (BCJ) for another five-year term. His appointment is effective November 1, 2011. Two new commissioners have also been named alongside six returning appointees.

The matter of service provision by CVM television has been the subject of Broadcasting Commission attention, well ahead of the Olympic Games. As late as May 15, 2012 the Commission provided CVM with the findings of a technical survey on the level and quality of coverage by broadcasters holding broadcasting licences.
